Maryland Crab Soup
This is a recipe that I have grown up with. My grandmother has made this soup for too many years to count. It’s a regular dish our family enjoys multiple times a year.
Ingredients: 
  • 2 Large of cans tomatoes
  • 3 Bags of Frozen Mixed Vegetables
  • 2 chopped Onions
  • 3 Tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1/2 lb cooked beef
  • A few slices of raw bacon chopped
  • 1 pound blue crab meat
  • Steamed crab claws, pieces
  • Salt/Pepper to taste
  • Parsley and Thyme to taste
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 1 gallon water (approximately)

Directions

  1. Start broth with beef chunks, bacon, and bay leaves in a large pot of water. Bring to boil.
  2. Add all vegetables, crab meat and seasonings.
  3. Cover and simmer for a few hours, no rushing! The soup freezes well too!
Serve with steamed craps, shrimp, corn on the cob 🙂

    Anything with Old Bay or J.O. on it reminds me of Maryland because you can’t get that stuff down here in SC. I love crab seasoning on popcorn. Not exactly a recipe, but it’s soooo good.

    I would say that I always have liked fried chicken because it reminds me of home. I’d say anything with onion also reminds me of home.

    i’m looking forward to the chipotle ranch and cajun spice.
    i was a very picky eater until my late twenties. i’m finally starting to enjoy and taste new stuff. 🙂

    Tangy Carolina BBQ…what can get any better?! BBQ reminds me of home because we always smoke our own BBQ for family gatherings and special occassions:)

    Anything (everything) with garlic & parm cheese!
    Also buffalo wings with blue cheese & ranch – my dad is a firefighter & would make TONS of wings on special occasions (graduations, bdays, etc) @ home & @ the firestation! 🙂

    They all sound so good, but the Tangy Carolina BBQ would remind me of home. Live in NC and we have BBQ resturants everywhere. And I love BBQ!!!!!
